Godshill Woods on a Summer Day

Lovely walk in the sunshine today at Godshill woods. A spitfire circled up in the blue yonder, while down below we talked of blackbirds' song vs the song of the song-thrush, the Famous Five vs the Secret Seven, life in the city vs life in the country, nimbus clouds vs a mackerel sky and many other things.

Good to see John back on his feet!

Walking at Rockford Common

The Pals walking up to the common

Across the old gravel pit

We chatted about silver birches
and how their bark becomes dark and gnarled with age

We ended up here for coffee, tea, beer and more chatter.

Between the April showers

Man in tree with open arms?

On the road.

March winds and April showers.

Tea and coffee for fourteen please.

Where ever I lay my hat.

The song I was trying to remember... here.

Walking at Fryer's Cliff

Today there was a lively chatter about many things, including: rugby, drama, New Zealand, cycling, submarines, the Isle of Man, the Isle of Wight. RAF WWII airfields and whippets.

Sunshine hugged the horizon

A row of breakwaters towards Hengistbury Head

John, getting the Tea and coffee
(we're training him up to be a waiter).

Thanks for another coffee stop at the excellent Beach Hut Cafe

A walk at Hyde on a winter's day

Lots of chat today about every subject under the sun, which made for slow walking.  Some walked a couple of miles others left.  All back to Hyde Cafe for coffee, tea and George's toffees.

Who chose this route?

Down the hill
Valerie was quite taken with this Greek rescue dog that we met in the Alice Lisle.
And lots of stories were told from the old days.
