About us

Mission Statement

We organize walking activities in the Avon Valley area to promote health and well-being among early stages of those affected by dementia, and through these outings offer short term respite to carers.

Charitable Purposes

Our small charity promotes walking. It has been claimed, by various authorities, that walking, has a beneficial effect on the health and well-being of those affected by dementia. Our charitable organisation operates in the local area of Ringwood and Fordingbridge. We offer organised outings, particularly walking activities, to various local, popular, venues; for example the New Forest or the nearby coast. Our secondary charitable purpose is to provide carers of those affected by dementia. with short term respite during the above mentioned activities. By participating in these activities individuals may gain an enhanced feeling of independence, well being and social inclusion.

Each activity will be facilitated by a group of experienced volunteers, who, wherever possible, will engage those affected by dementia in conversation. Transport will be provided by volunteers driving their own vehicles. Before taking part, applicants and their carers will be interviewed, as to the suitability of our activities to their needs. It is understood that not all of those affected by dementia will benefit from our activities.
