Godshill Woods on a Summer Day

Lovely walk in the sunshine today at Godshill woods. A spitfire circled up in the blue yonder, while down below we talked of blackbirds' song vs the song of the song-thrush, the Famous Five vs the Secret Seven, life in the city vs life in the country, nimbus clouds vs a mackerel sky and many other things.

Good to see John back on his feet!

Across the old gravel pit

We chatted about silver birches
and how their bark becomes dark and gnarled with age

We ended up here for coffee, tea, beer and more chatter.
